Enotria  tour

Tour between two seas and three peaks. Great views and multiform territories.

Land of Wine

Travel Mood

This tour will focus on the naturalistic aspects of Calabria, characterized from a geomorphological point of view, by being a "mountain in the middle of the sea" ... indeed, mountains in the middle of the seas! Because in truth the three great mountain massifs that characterize Calabria have different origins and compositions, just as the two seas are profoundly different from each other.

The geomorphological peculiarities determine the Calabrian crops and cultures, creating a multiform and multifaceted region from every point of view: the barren and rocky mountain territory of the Pollino becomes a forest in Sila, the rocky coasts of the Tyrrhenian become expanses of sand on the Ionian, the typical crops of cold mountain areas alternate with the botanical gardens of the valleys. A wealth of resources that changes in every corner, which is reflected in the food and wine productions that alternate the poor dishes of the mountain tradition with the sumptuousness of the great fish cuisine in the sea areas. And when the mountain and the sea meet, they give rise to specialties that are unique in the world, such as “Sardella,” sea fish preserved in the mountains!

The cultures, the rites, the traditions…sometimes remained unchanged over the centuries, as in the closed and inaccessible territories of the Pollino area, where apotropaic and arbreshe rites still resist. (Assandria del Carretto) Also, traditions of unique wine production methods (passito muscat of Saracena); sometimes open to the world, welcoming, with that welcome that the center of the Mediterranean, cradle and path of all great civilizations, can give…….It's time to start the journey between two seas and three peaks: open your eyes to wonder.

Castello di Serragiumenta - On a hill in the Calabrian countryside, between the Ionian and the Tyrrhenian Sea, immersed in the hills dressed with vineyards and olive groves, Serragiumenta castle is a charming residence, ideal for those seeking a holiday of any duration, with a special cuisine based on local products, either an equestrian holiday or a special event, starting from weddings, organized in details. Built in the sixteenth century by the tenth Count of Altomonte, Pietro Antonio Sanseverino, the Castle of Serragiumenta bears witness to an ancient and distant history over the centuries, with the Sangineto family that reigned from the early 1300s up to 1381, the year in which the Sanseverino family started to reign. Serra della Giumenta was indeed one of the 12 sub feuds instituted by Count Filippo di Sangineto due to military and economic reasons. Equipped with an appreciable extension of territory, it was an excellent place for breeding horses of good race. In the XIX century as reported in a map of the time, it dates back the construction of the church with a baroque altar, the barn – now the Aviary – and other small annexed buildings. In 1947 it was purchased, together with the surrounding farmland, by Federico Bilotti who took care of a first recovery of the structure, used as a family home, and of the revival of agricultural production in the surrounding land. The structure of the Castle, perfectly restored, has remained unchanged until today. The interiors, lounge after salon, reveal the atmosphere and the sober taste of the country homes of that time.

Azienda Agricola Ceraudo - Located in the seventeenth-century village among ancient olive trees, maritime pines, lemon, and pomegranate trees, there are two comfortable stone rural apartments under construction and four refined rooms. They are surrounded by an intimate and essential atmosphere, welcoming our beloved guests. A place to rediscover lost harmony.
